The Lake Drive Park Improvements Project was a fast-tracked beautification project for the Town of Palm Beach. In February 2021, the Town decided to renovate the park in conjunction with the adjacent Town Marina improvements and hired Burkhardt Construction as the Construction Manager at Risk. Construction began in June and was completed just four months later. Park upgrades include new cobblestone walkways, native and low landscaping, traditional-style benches, a new flagpole, bike racks, and new dog fountains. The upgraded park was completed on budget and on schedule. The 16-month marina renovation was simultaneously managed by Burkhardt Construction for the contractor that constructed the marina. The renovations included the expansion of 84 slips to allow larger boats, the replacement of stationary docks with floating docks and upgraded technology that includes high-speed Wi-Fi and enhanced shore electrical power. Construction of 1500’ of bulk head, a dock master facility, restrooms and a new security system were also included in the scope. The project also involved the addition of a fourth dock at the north end of the marina, joining the Australian, Brazilian, and Peruvian docks.
